No New Pit Within Concession

No new pit can be issued within the currently existing concession areas. By ceasing export, current coal production can fulfil the national requirements. On the other hand, Landsat satellite image analysis (2016) conducted by AURIGA shows 10.47% of coal mining areas have been exploited. The data shows that the government has the chance to preserve the existing environment by denying extension on coal mining areas.

One effort that the government can do is control developments and financial plans submitted by companies. Extending new land permit should be prohibited within the RKAB. Another effort would be denying prolonging existing IUP OP permits.

This page will document the current mining areas and monitor them, preventing land extension with the official land concession.
